Back from Christmas!

We started our own traditions this year since it was our 1st Christmas in our house. On Christmas Eve, Cory and I ate cinnamon rolls for breakfast, watched Christmas movies all day and decorated a Gingerbread house. We also made Christmas shaped cookies. It was nice, I can't wait until our little one is here! Then we visited my sisiter, Scott and Andrew on Christmas Day- Cory fell in love with guitar hero and now realtes every song we hear to that game. Then to Berry then to C-ville. The baby racked up on gifts too, my mom got some pacifiers, a Christmas outfit for next year, a little stuffed lamb, and some cloth diapers that she will have monogrammed later on. Cory's mom gave us some bibs, Caroline and Scott gave us some money, Becca gave us a book, and Misty and Shawn gave us a Christmas baby blanket. I didn't expect all of that, but it was a nice surprise! We also racked up on Home Depot gift certificates so we will be able to do some work to fix up our house. I didn't get any pics of Andrew; we were so preoccupied with Charlie escaping from the deck, I forgot to bring my camera in, so I am hoping my sis will post one.

THANKFUL

I saw on another blog a list of things she was thankful for and thought it was a good idea to write it down. So here's my list:

I am thankful for:

1. My wonderful husband who is so good to me even when I don't deserve it, I am so lucky to share my life with him, I love you Cory!

2. My sweet dogs Chase and Charlie, I don't know what life would be like if they weren't there to greet me every day when I come home; they always want to be near me and snuggle with me and I look forward to that everyday.

3. I have such a great family that I get to spend Thanksgiving with!

4. I am thankful to have a house that I adore and love to come home to.

5. Great friends that I also get to see this weekend.

6. A great job that I am so lucky to have, I could not ask for better co-workers, some of which have become my closest friends that I can always lean on (Kelly and Ali- I love you!) and a kick- a$$ boss who is so easy to work with, get along with, who's fun and cares about me.

7. And finally for the blog world; it has been so nice reconnecting with old friends!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Christmas Fun!

I got this email from a friend and sent it to my email list, but I also wanted fellow bloggers to join in the fun! Just answer the questions and post to your blog. It took me back to some great Christmas memories!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Depends on the size and shape of the present. For kids though I try to wrap so they can unwrap!

2. Real tree or Artificial? We have a fake one, but I have been begging Cory for a real one, I love the smell.

Overdue Doggie Pics

Charlie and Chase are about 1 year and 3 months old now. Since we moved into our house in June, they are free to play in the backyard all day and use up all of their energy. So when we get home in the evenings all they want to do is snuggle up and sleep. I love my sweet babies!
Here is Charlie; she loves to sunbathe :)

Chase loves the fire, you can always catch him taking a nap near it. He is the most cold- natured dog I have ever known. He likes to sleep on a heating pad and he hates going outside in the winter.

Chase also is a BIG fat baby- there is this tiny tennis ball left over from the puppies they had, and I found it while rearranging last week. Since then, he carries this ball around in his mouth everywhere, and sleeps with it in his mouth too. Its like a paci to him!

Here are some random photo opps! We love it when they turn their heads funny b/c they are listening to us, its so cute!

I love this one!

We puppy-sat for my friend Ali on her honeymoon, Chase just loved little Jax's bed- he kept laying on top of Jax.

Long time no post!

Just an update, I haven't posted in a while but lately work has been really busy for me. I must admit, Barack Obama wasn't who I supported for President and I still don't agree with him on most if his issues and policies, but interestingly enough....the business I am in has grown. All of my clients are Federal, and we have seen a lot of activity lately. Since Obama wants a bigger government, that means more government projects which will need to be staffed. My company recognizes that taxes will be raised and instead of letting go employees they are hiring more people to generate more gov't business. Whewww....Another sales person over me means more $$$ in my pocket. So I guess that's my "brightside" of an Obama presidency.

Other than that, Cory and I have been doing some small updates to our house. We painted the guest bedroom and the guest bathroom; we also re-did the floor in the guest bathroom too. I will post pics soon. I hope to take my before and after shots tonight.

Hoping to put up the Christmas Tree this weekend, I love Christmas time (who doesn't) but I usually have my decor up by now....I feel SO behind!

6. Do you have an eat in kitchen? We do, but Cory usually works at the table during the weeknights, but we love sitting on the couch in front of the TV, and we are young so why not! We get our talk time while we cook together. We eat at the table on weekends it seems, we make breakfast just before going to home depot. Our dogs get pretty confused when we sit at the table!

7. Do you have a bread box? Yep, but it stays open on top of the fridge and the bread stays beside it.

8. Do you have a picture of your kids on the fridge? Nope, don't have kids, Just one pic of my neice Alivia since it was really new pic. I like to keep albums and picture frames, I like the fridge pretty neat and clean.

18. Do you have a bowl of fruit on your table or counter? Are you kidding- did you see what I like to eat! Nope.

20. Does your kitchen have a theme? Italian restaurant colors - yellows, greens and reds

21. What's for supper tonight? Happy hour with work buddies! So that remains to be seen! Cory will probably use the opportunity to eat something that he LOVES and I hate like potted meet and collared greens! Yuck!

22. Do you have enough cabinet space? OH yes! That's what I love about having a house.

23. Does your family use paper plates? YES, we use them every night, very GREEN I know. But I don't like to clean during the week so it works best for us.

25. Do you wear an apron to work in the kitchen? That just makes me laugh! I only know of one person who would - Crystal Red!!!!!!!!!!!

26. Name one thing you would change about your kitchen if you could. oohh a few things, I wish I had a garbage disposal, and a big enough kitchen to have an island/bar. I also would like a separate dining room, but these are dreams I have to give up on in this current house! Maybe the next house in 10 years!

Join me in sharing about your kitchen!

Wicked Weekend!

Last weekend I had so much fun, it was kind of a Halloween theme. Alison, Kelly, and I went to see Wicked at the Fox, and it was an amazing show; I love going to the theatre! Then on Sunday, we went to Kartik and Janie's house to cook out and carve pumkins. We had a great time and they only live a couple of miles from our house!

Finished products.

This was just so funny to me, Kartik and Janie's dogs kept sticking their heads through the cat door b/c they wanted to come in!

This is Kartik and Janie, I have worked with Kartik for over 2 years now, he is like a big brother to me.

Of course Cory picked out the largest pumpkin possible! And it took him the longest to carve his, but it turned out great, this is his below, the headless horseman.

Kelly's boyfriend Frank did a skeleton, was my personal favorite!
