French

The past few days Carson has started jibber-jabbering more and more which I didn't think was possible! His little language reminds me of the episode of Friends where Joey is trying to learn French from Phoebe. :)

Beautiful Blogger Award

Thanks to Candace for My Award!!!!!!

With the award, I have to share seven random things about me:

1. I don't have to wash my hair everyday (its dry and course) but I do shower everyday unless I am running super late for work..in fact here is a frugal tip for a homemade shower cap - use a t-shirt, just pull the t-shirt off of your neck up to the hairline, throw your head over with the shirt covering your hair then twist the shirt and tuck it in the back (treating the T-shirt like you would a towel on wet hair)
2. I love cleaning out cabinets and closets to organize them, it is fun for me
3. Wish I had learned how to play the piano growing up
4. Love the Kardashians, they are freaking hilarious
5. I reference most real-life scenarios to "Sex and the City" or "Friends"
6. Love going to Target
7. Have only flown a grand total of 3 times: New York, Las Vegas and Jamaica (that is about to change...I am so pumped to get to go to DC for work)
I would like to give this award to:

The new "Do"

Before, all I could do with my hair was the scrunchy look (which Cory loves for some reason...when he found out I was getting my hair done, he asked me to get a...dare I speak the word....PERM, yes no kidding! He is so funny), anyway, my hair was too long and thick to take the time to dry it and fix it. No matter what I did (besides a pony tail) it stuck out like cocker spaniel ears.

The one attempt to straighten it in the past few months, you can tell it just needed a good shaping and trimming and my roots were way obvious:

Here is the new look, it will fade a bit, as it always does.

7 months

Look at those eyes...

Sleeping in Daddy's lap, typical Saturday :)

Lovin bath time

Interested in and grabbing everything:

New and exciting things Carson does:
-Can sit up all by himself
-Rolls ALL OVER the place, he is trying to scoot, but no progress yet, just rolling to get to the toy he wants
-He claps when we clap, so sweet
-Makes noises with his tongue
-Has "big boy" baths sitting up, and loves to splash and make a big mess!
-Chews on his sippy cup (not really drinking from it yet)
-Eats baby food 3 times per day
-Sleeping much better (knock on wood)
-He is a pro with his passy
-Laughs really loud with his Daddy, but I can rarely get him to cackle like Cory does (Cory says I am not rough enough)

Growing like a weed!
Weight: 17lbs 6 oz (went to the Dr. today for a check up on his ears, he is doing good)

Food he likes:
Cereal
Green Beans
Peas
Sweet Potatoes
Pears
Squash
Applesauce
Bananas
Peaches
Prunes
Carrots

Still eats 7oz of formula every 4 hours, and goes the entire night w/out eating
Bed time is typically around 7:30 or 8 depending on the nap schedule, and he wakes us around 5:30 or 6AM.

Sizes: Clothes are still 6 months, and 6-9 months; Diapers are size 3 (currently trying the BJ's brand, they are ok)

Toys: loves anything really, still loves the jumperoo, and the fisher price colored rings, he also has a book that lights up and makes noise that he is really interested in right now

Cartoons: He loves pretty much any cartoon - I however love Super Why, Curious George, Dinosaur Train, Clifford and Sesame Street (I HATE Cailliou, Dragon Tales, Word World, these shows are SO stupid and annoying!)

No teeth yet!

Baby-Wearing

I SO regret not getting a sling or a wrap when Carson was tiny. I registered for one of those standard baby carriers (that is a piece of crap BTW), b/c I thought we should have something Cory would feel comfortable with wearing too.

Well screw that! I was the one home all day with Carson for 3 months, and I could have gotten SO much more done around the house while holding, I mean wearing my baby - How awesome is that! I can't wait for baby #2!

I am starting a "regrets" label in order to help me remember the things I want to do differently with future children.

Juicy

Wow....I am addicted to reading blogs. Seriously addicted. A co-worker of mine thought I only read friends' and family blogs, and I told him that blog reading is like reality TV....the stranger blogs are the best. I have found a good, juicy one.

You may have come across it if you read "the big blogs" such as Baby Rabies and Mckmama, she is quite popular. To me, this blog takes the cake. There is a ton of controversy (read the comments) on her post about her boys' room and as soon as I read this I was hooked. I have since been reading her posts in reverse.

Her blog is a "frugal blog" - something I don't at all aspire to....I wouldn't be able to live that way. But her thought process and the things she is willing to do to save a penny are extremely interesting. For example, she spent about 3 or so days sprouting rice to make a substitute for oatmeal, b/c oatmeal apparently has a nutrient blocking substance.

Goals, Goals, Goals

One thing I did learn in college was that when you set goals, set attainable goals. Nothing sucks more than not reaching your goals. I know what I am capable of and this is why my goals are small :)

On a recent post here, I listed a few things to achieve and all 3 are done.

-New blog design (Thank you Leslie)

-labeling posts - doing good

-I have found a couple more baby boy blogs to read

New Goal List:

Get my hair done: This may sound stupid as a goal, but I don't really like doing anything that takes away time with my boys. I have VERY THICK hair and it takes almost 3 hours to get my hair cut, colored and styled. Also, I can't just go anywhere; there is only one place where I have established trust. I have been going to Toni and Guy for about 4 years. And everytime I attempt to find someone cheaper - they fail. So basically when I get my hair done, I am out roughly $160 and I won't get home until 8pm (I go after work b/c its close to work). But the reason I am making this a goal is b/c I look like a hobo at work and I believe it is important to look polished and professional. My hair is so LONG and THICK that I can't do anything with it at the moment besides a pony tail.

Family Portraits: My son is almost 7 months old and I have yet to have any family portraits done. SAD. I am going to regret this in the future. Again, I just never wanted to shell out that much $ for a fancy photographer. But now that he is sitting up I want to schedule someone in the spring to do some outside pics.

Drink more water: Seems easy right...not when you hate water! (As I sit here drinking a diet coke, off-brand of course)
Finally, SO pumped, we will begin a few home updates soon:
-Replace the siding on our house, and we will paint the siding a new color.
-Paint our master bathroom and get a new shower curtain. I was given a belated wedding present (some fancy towels) last weekend. So it inspired me to update my bathroom a bit. Cory also wants to paint our bedroom white, but I think that is pointless, its cream right now.
