New baby, Tucker

We went to AL this weekend to see Cory's sister's new baby, Tucker. He is so precious, and so tiny. He slept a lot of course, but I was able to get one picture of him awake.

We were only able to stay one night since Cory had to report to the Masters' on Sunday :(

Mom is coming to keep me company for most of the week and of course do some baby shopping for Carson - I hope to find a bassinet and a glider I like.

Home Updates

Kitchen before, had white walls:

We painted the Dining room the same as the living room:

LIVING ROOM:

This is not the best "before" shot, but the living room walls were white and the mantle was cream:

After: we went with a cross between a sand and a tan.

I promise the mantle is a much deeper chocolate than it looks in the picture, we will change the tile on the fireplace to make it a sand/tan when we get a chance, and we are working on hiding the TV cords ;)

Cory's parents had some left over tile from their kitchen and they helped us w/ this floor:

We went with a vibrant green, and did a green and brown theme:

We changed out the face plates on the switches and plug outlets:

And found a $30 faucet at Home Depot:
The TO DO List:

Finish changing out all face plates, switches and outlets in the living room

Find an area rug for the living room (we are shopping and pricing)

A few touch ups all over from careless mistakes and paint bleeding through the painters tape

Finish painting trim in Carson's room (wall is painted, I will post that on baby blog)

Price and pick out tile for the fireplace

Maybe some landscaping, who knows!

WILL WE EVER BE DONE!

Oh and our bedroom and bathroom won't be painted for a couple of years...we are so tired of painting!

Today is my birthday, and it is a very special one for me :) I am 26 years old and I can't believe how time flies. 10 years ago I got my first car...a red chevy cavelier, and I thought that was cloud nine (Hah!). Now I have a wonderful husband, a nice home, great job, great family and friends, and last but certainly not least...my little Carson making his debut in just a few months! Not too much I could want on this Birthday!


However, that wonderful Cory is taking me to the spa tomorrow for the full treatment! Ahhh.....Just what I need.

20 weeks, 4 days

I am almost to the 21 wk mark...time is going by very slow for me. We took our hospital tour last night at Northside Forsythe Hospital. And we fell in love with it, the people were wonderful, the facility is new, clean, and very personal, and very close to our house.

I had my 20 week check up today and everything looked good. Carson was moving A LOT like usual when we were trying to get the heartbeat, he always gets hiper when we need to get something done....this reminds me so much of Cory. :)

A few negatives....

If possible (I will be working on doing this today) Cory and I would like to find another OB Dr. to continue my care. There is nothing bad about my Dr., but she has no bedside manner and has not prepared me the way I hear most Dr.'s prepare their other patients. I also feel that my wishes are not as important as her own. For those of you who are not familiar with Atlanta and the hospitals - Northside/Downtown is considered the Baby Factory, its the largest maternity area around. Almost EVERYONE has their babies there, b/c its good, but it is also crowded, in downtown and I don't feel we will get the attention we need there, not to mention that the location is extremely inconvenient for us. And my Dr. is a HUGE advocate for this hospital. The hospital we prefer is Northside/Forsythe, its just our choice and she doesn't respect that. So we are going to change OB practices to one that delivers mainly at Forsythe. I have heard rumors that some Dr.'s won't accept new patients after the 1st trimester, so I hope that is not the case.

Another thing I struggle with is my weight gain, I am constantly reminded by strangers that I am much larger than I should be at this point. People I meet often think that I am about to deliver. For example....when we walked into the hospital last night we looked around and a nurse pointed me to admissions, and I looked puzzled...and said we were here for the tour. And she laughed and said "Oh I thought you were here to have your baby." Thanks lady.

I am +16 pounds since I got pregnant. My Dr. said its fine, but from what I have read, at my weight before pregnancy, I only needed to gain around 20 lbs. So obviously I am way overboard. I am not looking for advice, as I have spoken with my Dr. regarding some changes I need to make in my diet. I just wanted to ask for some prayers since this is something that constantly frustrates me.

House Update...

We finally see the light at the end of the tunnel (fixing up our house). We finished painting the kitchen trim and most of the living room yesterday, and will finish tonight. I will try to get some pics up soon. After we finish painting we will shop for an area rug for the living room, and order some crown molding. I hope it all comes together...I am not much of a decorator, I have no idea what I am doing :(

Then we can really get started on Carson's room!

Lunch

Sadness.....I went to Benihana for lunch today and discovered they no longer have yum-yum sauce! Those who know me understand this is a tragedy. I haven't been able to eat Japanese since I got pregnant, and now that I am wanting it again, the best part is gone. Rest in peace yum yum sauce. :(
