The latest.....

33 weeks and 2 days:

New symptoms include:

joints in my fingers really hurting
some cramps
harder to get up
walking around for a while is very hard on my feet
swelling of hands and feet
skin on my belly is numb in spots...have not seen any of that in the books so not sure if its normal
exhaustion...just looking at the dishes or laundry is exhausting

Recently we have been preparing for Carson's arrival. We have attended 2 of the 3 baby classes that we signed up for. The last one is next week.

We also bought a few items that I don't expect to get at baby showers (such as mattress, mylicon, safety kit, diaper pail, etc...)

Also, I know its early, but I am excited, impatient and just like to be prepared: I have begun to pack for our stay at the hospital. I don't like to wait until the last minute. For example we had the nursery done months ago...good thing b/c I am so big already I just don't think I would have enough energy to be putting a nursery together. I washed the baby clothes (newborn - 3 months), blankets, bibs, etc... I still have 2 more baby showers so I wanted to get a head start. Cory loves the smell of the clean baby clothes. :)

We went to Home Depot over the weekend and I encountered yet another rude stranger. The cashier asked me what month I was in and when I told her she stared at my belly then asked if I was having a boy. She said she is 5 months along and is barely showing, that she didn't think she would get as big as me. All I said was "it must be nice." What is interesting to me is that she wasn't a skinny person and that is probaby why you couldn't tell she was pregnant, and why would a pregnant woman say something like that, she knows how hard it is to be pregnant w/ out people hurting your feelings. Also, I like going to the baby classes b/c I get to see other pregnant women who are as far along as I am, and I think I look pretty proportional to them. I do notice that the women who carry girls seem to be smaller than those carrying boys. However here is a recent picture of my hugeness:

A few comments about your post:

1) Good thing to be prepared. We packed simply hours before I went into labor. It was really random that we decided to pack and be prepared, and what do you know?? I was also 3 weeks early, so you HAVE to be prepared!
2) Everyone doesn't know what to say to a pregnant woman other than "you look like you are going to pop." It's annoying, but just wait - they will say it about the baby too "ooo, look at that fat little baby" or "look how skinny." The annoyance continues....blah.
3) Can't wait to see you this weekend at the T-town shower!! It's been too long!

Relax and enjoy it! It's the only time in life you get to be that big and feel good about it!! I always looked ready to pop by 6 1/2 months because I am so short..and I was a bit top-heavy, which certainly never helped the situation. I agree with your friend, Candace, though. The annoyance doesn't end. My favorite is the endless comparison on who the baby looks like..we get that "I swear I don't think your mommy had anything to do with, you look like your daddy just spit you out", followed by another person with "Oh, my, you won't ever be able to deny him, April, he's your spitting image." Really?? Do we favor?

You look great. I always had people looking at my left hand to see if I was married when I was pregnant. Ugh. I had numb spots on my stomach too so don't worry...it's nothing serious! Good luck with everything! I can't wait to see pictures!

You look cute! You are right about the difference in how you carry a boy vs. carrying a girl. I noticed that during my pregnancy as well. Don't worry about the comments. When Carson is here, you will not remember them anyway! The weight does not have to stay forever! By Evan's 2 week visit, I was like 2 pounds from pregnancy weight and now I weigh less than I did before I got pregnant. You can do it! Besides, even if it does stay on, it is totally worth it!! Gaining weight just means that Carson is growing the way that he should and that he is getting all he needs!!! But you are right, people can be rude! Hang in there, it's almost over!
